DTOC Donates Funds To Stage 2 – 2019

President Lee Thaggard (r) Presents A Check To Stage 2 Director, Susie Johnson (l)

On Tuesday, January 29th, 2019, DTOC President Lee Thaggard presented a check to Susie Johnson to support her work as director of the Meridian youth theater program ‘Stage 2’.

Founded in 2010, Stage 2 began as a small troop of teenagers who were interested in learning about the different branches of theater, and has since grown to about ninety members between the ages of 13 and 19. Susie discussed the fact that the program stresses the importance of teamwork, and that working OFF-stage is just as important for a show as being ON-stage! Members are actively involved on committees, helping with costumes, set design, props, advertisement and fundraising.

Stage 2 strives to promote community involvement and to expose members to all aspects of the performing arts. The mission of Stage 2 is to promote the performing arts through education and involvement in productions and community outreach, and to develop, through partnering, the community’s appreciation of the performing arts.

If you are interested in becoming a member or would like to be involved, contact Susie Johnson at susiesmj@comcast.net.
