DTOC Donates To Hull Scholarship Fund – 2016

DTOC President Daniel Stewart presented a check to Lindsey Hall from WTOK as a donation to the Steve Hull Memorial Scholarship at the May 24th, 2016 meeting of the Downtown Optimist Club.

Fifteen years ago, Steve Hull’s life fell short from a heart attack, while on the golf course at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club. What started as a way to honor Hull’s memory and set up a scholarship fund for his two children has grown into one of the biggest charity events the golf course hosts each year. “It’s a great opportunity to do some community outreach and support students who need scholarship assistance. ” says Danny Buckalew, sponsor.

The late Steve Hull was a former basketball coach at EMCC and West Lauderdale High School. DTOC Member Lindsey Hall was instrumental in the creation of the Golf Tournament that raises funds for the Scholarship Fund.
