DTOC Donates to Debs/Parent Circle Halloween Event – 2014

There are times when The Downtown Optimist Club of Meridian gets to help two groups at the same time and this is one of those time. Over the years, the DTOC has developed a strong working relationship with a group of girls in Meridian, MS known as the Debs. The Debs have assisted the DTOC put on the Pancake Jubilee for many years as well as providing volunteers who come and help us in the concession stand during our summer T-Ball Program.

When the DTOC learned that the Debs have been teaming up with The Parent Circle over the past few years to put on a Halloween event for special needs children, we saw an opportunity to help the Debs by defraying some of their cost of the event as well as once again supporting the great work of The Parent Circle of Meridian.

So, just prior to Halloween, 2014, the DTOC made a $500 donation to the Debs to pay for candy and supplies that would be used for the event. DTOC Member Scott Gray is also a Deb Dad and accepted the donation for the Debs presented by President Steve Smith.
